Devoted to Decks
Devoted to Decks

Summertime is here to stay and not only is it the perfect time of year to spend time with your family and friends in your backyard because of the warm weather, with COVID-19  restrictions still in place, a custom-built deck is a necessity to some at this current time. Adding a deck to your backyard opens a world of possibilities, with options to make it into an outdoor living space.

But before exploring those possibilities, hiring the right deck builder is crucial. One must choose a reliable deck builder who ensures your deck will be built with care and safety in mind and has years of experience. Get Decked checks off all those boxes and more.

“In today’s uncertain times, your backyard is a safe place. Your deck should be built to maximize your needs,” says owner Mike Jerminski.

Get Decked only builds decks and has been doing so for almost 40 years. Jerminski and his wife, Connie, say they are finding homeowners are taking all the necessary steps when it comes to researching deck builders.

“Today’s homeowners are very smart and do their due diligence when it comes to choosing a contractor. Gone are the days of hiring a contractor and hoping the project turns out well,” he says. “Our customers usually spend countless hours researching referrals, contractor ratings, pricing and website information.”

The first thing that sets Get Decked apart is the interaction with a homeowner from the be- ginning. When discussing a potential project, they give a free estimate, and the person building your deck is the one who meets with the customer.

“We meet directly with our customers on every free estimate, there is no salesman,” Jerminski says. “The person who will be building the deck is on every estimate.”

Jerminski says his team is careful approaching each estimate, not cutting any corners or giving an inexpensive quote. He is aware his estimate most likely won’t be the least expensive compared to other companies, but the quality of materials and building a deck that will last for years to come is of utmost importance.

“A lot of times, customers obtain three or four estimates and look for the cheapest quote, but decks are not always built the same,” he says. “We urge our  customers to look at important factors when choosing the right builder. The first is materials— not all decks are built using the same ingredients. When comparing quotes, look closely at the material you are being offered.”

The second factor is to find out what warranties, if any, other companies offer. “Some maintenance-free  decking options are cheaper than others, with limited or no warranties,” Jerminski says. “Some offer a one-year workmanship warranty, some offer a lifetime. We take no money down. We want to prove to our customers that they are getting exactly the deck they want, and we offer warranties on our projects that our competition  can’t match. Our pricing is honest, our values are old-fashioned and our main objective is providing a custom-built deck that is exactly as our homeowner envisions it to be.”

Get Decked always strives to be the best deck builder in the area, and they pride themselves on providing the highest-quality service and product, and creating a seamless process from start to finish.

“In order to be the best, we have to have the experience, ” he says. “We have one crew who devotes their lives to building the best deck possible, and they are skilled craftsmen. We don’t do anything year-round but build custom decks. Repetition creates skill, and we use the best possible materials.

“With thousands of decks under our belts over the course of 37 years in the trade, we can tailor a beautiful deck custom built for you.”
